I've been scoping through some pictures of LFW '12 and I've come across two big designers and their themes. Colour. Not just a sprinkle or a dash of colour, a big massive sha-bang of bold primary colours all there for the eye to see! Now then, the two I have picked to pull apart and delve into are; Christopher Kane and Henry Holland. Forever loving CK's amazing animal pictured t-shirts and Henry Holland's reinvention of the 'Pretty Polly' tights I feel both are on parr in their own little way. Now though my opinion has swiftly changed. Christopher Kane's collection is somewhat a breath of fresh air, it's slightly cringey due to the extreme use of bold colouring but the way he contrasts the colour with black lace, it takes it down a notch making it edgy and extremely bearable.
These are my favourite pieces. I love the rainbow theme and the way he's teamed it with a 'harsh' looking model with jet-black hair. It creates the contrast and also swerves you away from thinking, 'This look is too young', instead you think 'I could wear that clubbing' or 'Well, that's something fun for the weekend'. Also, the long sheer dress which has a dipped hem is beautiful, the metallic fabric could of made the dress cheap and tacky but the pastel colouring keeps it young, fun and very girly!
I would love to elaborate on Henry Holland's collection, but it honestly is not worth my time or effort. So for now we shall all admire CK's work and once again applaud his greatness! Hazaaaaah!!!! xo
