StevenSeverin - Vampyr After the success of his Blood of a Poet tour in2010, Steven Severin returns to Phoenix with a rare opportunity to hear his newscore for Vampyr, the third in his ongoing film accompaniment series - MusicFor Silents. Dreyer's unsettling tale of fear and obsession finds its auralcounterpart in Severin's suitably textured score, a synthesised, highlyatmospheric soundscape. Loosely based on Sheridan Le Fanu's genre-defining 1872vampire tale Carmilla, Vampyr is an alternative take on the cinematic vampire, creating an intense, nightmarish atmosphere that haunts the mind long after thelights go up.

Review: Lost Dog Found - The Jump Start Scandal

To contact us Click HERE

Lost Dog Found - The Jump Start Scandal (Independent)Lost Dog Found is a retro swing jump blues band, based in San Francisco, but guaranteed to raise a ruckus wherever they’reheard. Led by guitarist Stevie Mac, the band, all seven of them, let rip on theirdebut long player “The Jump Start Scandal”, which features an impressive tracklisting that’s comprised of no less than 11 original songs.
They begin with “Tear Up theFloor” with guitarist Mac and trumpeter Adam Borden combiningbeautifully to cook up a ‘50s noir setting for vocalist Chris Hudlow’s afterhours delivery (he’ll solve the mystery and get the girl – but you know she’sgoing to turn out bad). It’s followed by the goodtime “50Things I Love About a Woman”, which wisely turns out to be just abouteverything, and the slower “Turn Me On” offersclues as to why they were Jango’s number one indieblues band for a third of a year.
Swing revivals may come and go, but while there arebands out there as good as Lost Dog Found, it’s a genre that will continue tolive, breathe and thrive. In fact, these guys would go down a storm on the UKAmericana circuit, and I hope they make a trip over sooner rather than later.Until then we’ll just have to be satisfied with their record, and however muchI’d love to see them do there thing live on a local stage, I know I’ve got thenext best thing right here.www.lostdogfound.comwww.facebook.com/ldfbandRob F.

"Imaginea Yo La Tengo too tight to get cute or far out, dispensing a Velvet Undergroundderivative, fluent enough to warm the erectile tissue of anyone with a thingfor guitar drones.”  Rolling Stone4/5

“I consider Wussy the best band inAmerica ... just about every one of the 46 songs on those five albums: Funeral Dress, followed by Left for Dead, Wussy, the unplugged start-to-finish remake Funeral Dress II,and Strawberry.  We're talkingBeatles-Stones consistency here.”  RobertChristgau

“Recalling a roll call of adventurous boy/girl-styled indie bands – Yo LaTengo, Handsome Family, X – Wussydraws on plenty of yin/yang sexual and existential tension, a charminglyshambling, rough-hewn sound, and an army of alternately droning and janglingguitars on their sharpest outing yet.”  Uncut ****

ChuckCleaver (formerly of Cincinnati's Ass Ponys) and Lisa Walker began playing together in2001 as a result of Cleaver’s stage fright when asked to perform a brief run ofsolo shows.  The duo’s first performance was largely unplanned, and yetwent without incident… so they agreed to continue and expand.  Mark Messerly came on board in 2002 asbassist and utility man, with DawnBurman joining on drums shortly thereafter.   Joe Klug was added as drummer and multi-instrumentalist afterBurman’s  departure in early 2009.  Not one, but two great singersongwriters complimenting each other on guitar and vocals over a pulsatingthrum of drone-shoegazey spikey rock.  The four-piece has released severalalbums and EP's on their native Cincinnati’s Shake It label.

Wiz Khalifa is back with "Work Hard, Play Hard."

To contact us Click HERE
Rostrum/Atlantic Records artist, Wiz Khalifa has released "Work Hard, Play Hard," the lead single from his upcoming, sophomore album, "O.N.I.F.C." The track, produced by Stargate and Benny Blanco, is available at all digital retailers today. Listen to "Work Hard, Play Hard" here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=13Gu9p0fM5w. What's more, the companion video for "Work Hard, Play Hard," was shot earlier this month in Khalifa's hometown of Pittsburgh, PA. Last week, Wiz was nominated for "Best New Artist" and "Best Rap Artist," at the 2012 Billboard Music Awards airing Sunday, May 20th from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas (check local listings.) These new nominations follow the rapper's two recent nominations at this year's Grammy Awards for "Best Rap Song" and "Best Rap Performance" for his 3X-Platinum hit, "Black And Yellow."

Adding to this excitement, Wiz is heralding the release of his new single with a summer amphitheater tour, dubbed the "Under The Influence Of Music Tour," with Mac Miller, and special guests Kendrick Lamar, Schoolboy Q and Chevy Woods. The tour kicks off in Cincinnati, OH on July 26th and wraps on August 5th at Detroit's DTE Energy Music Theatre.

The acclaimed rapper recently took the stage at the 2012 Coachella Festival, where he joined rap veterans Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre for a performance of his 2x-Platinum, top 10 smash hit, "Young, Wild & Free." Adding to this, Wiz recently lent his rhymes to Maroon 5's new single "Payphone," which they performed together on NBC's The Voice last week. "Payphone" is currently #1 on the overall iTunes singles chart.

"O.N.I.F.C." is the follow-up to Wiz Khalifa's gold-certified major label debut "ROLLING PAPERS," which was released in March 2011, and spawned the multi-platinum hits "Black And Yellow," "Roll Up" and "No Sleep." Wiz earned himself two nominations at this year's Grammy Awards thanks to his breakout hit "Black And Yellow," in both the "Best Rap Song" and "Best Rap Performance" categories. Khalifa then joined forces with Snoop Dogg for "Mac And Devin Go To High School Soundtrack," the collaborative soundtrack album for the film "Mac And Devin Go To High School." The album featured the hit single "Young, Wild & Free (feat. Bruno Mars)," which has gone on to become 2x-certified Platinum, and has peaked at #7 on Billboard's Hot 100 singles chart. Wiz kicked off 2012 with a high-profile campaign with Bing, where he was featured in the search engine's nationwide commercials.

Khalifa is in the studio putting the final touches on his sophomore album "O.N.I.F.C." due later this year.
