First I have to apologise about the delay of putting this up as I have a few people ask about seeing the images. I have been mental with so many commissions it's only now I have slowed down to have time to blog this.
Ibiza has come around again so quickly. I was so looking forward getting over to the island to start getting my teeth into the new Pioneer Calendar 2013 project. They were also showcasing their new product the RMX 1000, so I had to try and capture over the time I was there DJs using the product, which by the way is amazing!!!

I started the week at the International Music Summit, which goes on for 3 days, which included two Dalt Vila parties and the Carl Cox Legends meal. This was by far the best one I had been to, Pioneer are one of the main sponsors and I had to capture their presence at the event. Also the guest panelists were amazing including music legends Nile Rodgers, Giorgio Moroder, Carl Cox, Danny Tenaglia and Paul Oakenfold. It was also good to hear from new artists (compared to the above) like Locodice, Luciano, Nina Kraviz who were all talking about the electronic music scene, past and present.
Up next was the Ushuaia opening party with the superb Luciano, as i have said in the past an amazing venue. This year they have put added lots of new production, which is visually stunning. The only moan I would say about the event was it was far too busy, as it was near impossible to get out into the crowd after a certain time. However the music was great, it went off and I got some good images.
My last shoot was at Space for their opening party. I have done this for the past 5 years and as usual it was a great event. Highlights for me were everybody in the Flight Arena (pictured below) singing happy birthday to Carl Cox (who is celebrating his 50th this year), Orbital doing a live set, Sasha and Steve Lawler in the Discotech. Great music which always inspires me when I come back.

When I saw that PIL were performing at Bournemouth's O2 Academy I requested to shoot the job for Ilikemusic straight away. John Lydon is a music legend and I've always wanted to photograph him. I have to admit I was not feeling the music (definitely prefer the Pistols) but he (as you would expect) was an amazing performer, with great stage presence. I wanted to shoot some close ups too as he pulls some great faces.

The only major moan I would have is that the production was pretty crap with the lighting being quite tricky to shoot. Pretty happy what I got in the end :)

As I have wrote in the past to me shooting a magazine cover is the best job I can get commissioned to do. The buzz of seeing it on the shelf afterwards is hard to beat. This would be around my 30th cover for DJ Mag and I feel really honoured that I have done that many. The artists featured this month are new Techno superstars Blawan and Pariah. These guys were so sound and a real pleasure to photograph and I think this may have been only their second ever shoot, but I couldn't tell. We shot it at the Oval Space, which is a new venue in East London. Cracking place and the guys that ran it were all really nice and helpful.
We managed to get it all done in around 2 hours, I tried to get at least 3 different looks for the article and I'm really happy how it all came out. Below is the finished piece that would be in the mag and I have also included the original shots and a couple of faves. Hope you like :)

New Era to be Released September 11th via Nightmare Records

Last week CLOUDSCAPE debuted a stream of the first single "Share Your Energy" from their upcoming album New Era. CLOUDSCAPE wants to give their fans a chance to purchase the single before the September 11th release date of New Era.  Starting today, the digital single is available for purchase on both iTunes and Amazon.   CLOUDSCAPE is a melodic power metal band with progressive touches from southern Sweden.  CLOUDSCAPE's compositional ambitions have always bridged progressive metal and straightforward melodic rock/metal, creating music accessible to a wider audience by virtue of its intense melody, but with enough complexity to satiate the ears of casual and serious music enthusiasts. After a successful run of summer shows highlighted by appearancesat CBGB, Pitchfork, Capitol Hill Block Party and Fuji Rock festivals, CloudNothings are ready to announce another round of upcoming shows. These showswill feature appearances at FYF, Pygmalion, Midpoint and Pitchfork Parisfestivals, as well as performances on the inaugural Coachella cruises inDecember.
