Delta Rae has had quite a week. The Durham, NC sextet sawtheir debut album, Carry The Fire come out onTuesday (iTunes link) and to celebrate, the band played a sold outshow at The Troubadour in LA. They also performed a special set at The GrammyMuseum on Monday and on KCRW's "Morning Becomes Eclectic" yesterday.Today it was revealed that Rolling Stone hand selected them to be part of their"Women Who Rock" campaign, where they'll be competing against fiveother female artists who Rolling Stone deem "The Next Big Thing" witha chance to win a cover feature. Delta Rae hails from Durham, NC and were recently signed toWarner Bros. Records by legendary A&R man Seymour Stein who is responsiblefor Madonna, Talking Heads and The Ramones. They're a six member band, withthree siblings and four lead singers. The band's genre-bending sound is rootedin four-part harmonies. They've created their own Southern influenced versionof Americana deep in passion, heart and soul.
