AnnualOxfordshire event announces line-up for 49th festivalHeadlinersinc. The Unthanks, Show Of Hands, Spiers & Boden, Home Service

The Mercury Prize nominated Unthanks and livefavourites Show Of Hands are among the headline acts set to appear at thisyear's Towersey Festival. 
Now in its 49th year - making it the UK's longestrunning independent music festival - the five-day event runs from Thursday 22to Monday 26 August 2013, and features an array of entertainment.
Other acts visiting the picturesque Oxfordshirevillage are Bellowhead founders Spiers and Boden, father and daughter MartinCarthy and Eliza Carthy, Home Service featuring War Horse songsmith John Tams,renowned guitarist Martin Simpson, folk elder statesman Vin Garbutt, andrising newcomer Lucy Ward. 
In what can only be described as an eclectic line-up,they're joined by Swiss Cajun punks Mama Rosin, global brass band Orkestra delSol, Gypsy jazz combo Manière des Bohémiens, and orchestral alt-folk actMoulettes, whose former member Ted Dwane has found international fame withMumford And Sons.
While the music, which also includes over 30 hours ofceilidh dance sessions, is a key focus, the festival also boasts poetry,comedy, theatre, circus performers, visual arts, films, workshops, storytellingand great food.
The popular Children's Festival features everythingfrom drop-in craft activities to baby reflexology, while the Shooting Rootsstrand presents a programme of activities dedicated to, and run by, youngpeople, and boasting a wide range of artisan beers and ciders, the Real AleFestival is always a favourite!
"Towersey Festival has long held a reputationfor being a very special event, somewhere for people to relax and enjoythemselves in a friendly atmosphere. That's something we're very proud of andalways strive for," says Joe Heap, Festival Director. “As we head towardsour 50th anniversary next year, our 2013 festival welcomes yet another greatline-up of big names and new stars. But the music is just part of the story -there's just so much more going on..."
Tickets for the full festival start range from£55-£110, with under 5s free. Camping available. Day tickets will be releasedin April.
