Fearless Records has launched the pre-order for the North American release of Lostprophets’ long-waited new LP Weapons at: http://lostprophets.merchnow.com.

Fans will get an instant download of the band’s current single “Bring ‘Em Down” with each pre-order.

Formed in Pontypridd, South Wales, the Welsh rock band have made their mark on both sides of the Atlantic with their blend of strong melodic choruses and aggressively edged rock. Through four previous albums - 2000's fakesoundofprogress, 2004's Start Something, 2006's Liberation Transmission, and 2010's The Betrayed - the band has grown, both in songwriting and success, stacking up a dozen or so top 40 singles and selling over 2 million albums worldwide. Recipients of Kerrang! Magazine's 2010's Classic Songwriters Award, Lostprophets have become one of the U.K.'s biggest rock bands, gracing countless magazine covers and headlining stages at Reading/Leeds and Download Festivals.

"With the business being as it is, and America being such a huge market to be absent from, we couldn't be more flattered and excited that Fearless are giving us another crack at it - Another shot, if you will. Warped Tour will remind everyone - old fans and new - how good it is having Lostprophets on these shores. It's been a long time since a UK rock band has made a real impact in America and we're ready to carry that torch." - Ian Watkins, Lead Vocals

Weapons will be the band's first North American release since "Liberation Transmission", and will be available on June 19th, 2012. The album was recorded in North Hollywood, CA at NRG Studios with producer Ken Andrews (A Perfect Circle, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club).

Wiz Khalifa is back with "Work Hard, Play Hard."

To contact us Click HERE
Rostrum/Atlantic Records artist, Wiz Khalifa has released "Work Hard, Play Hard," the lead single from his upcoming, sophomore album, "O.N.I.F.C." The track, produced by Stargate and Benny Blanco, is available at all digital retailers today. Listen to "Work Hard, Play Hard" here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=13Gu9p0fM5w. What's more, the companion video for "Work Hard, Play Hard," was shot earlier this month in Khalifa's hometown of Pittsburgh, PA. Last week, Wiz was nominated for "Best New Artist" and "Best Rap Artist," at the 2012 Billboard Music Awards airing Sunday, May 20th from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas (check local listings.) These new nominations follow the rapper's two recent nominations at this year's Grammy Awards for "Best Rap Song" and "Best Rap Performance" for his 3X-Platinum hit, "Black And Yellow."

Adding to this excitement, Wiz is heralding the release of his new single with a summer amphitheater tour, dubbed the "Under The Influence Of Music Tour," with Mac Miller, and special guests Kendrick Lamar, Schoolboy Q and Chevy Woods. The tour kicks off in Cincinnati, OH on July 26th and wraps on August 5th at Detroit's DTE Energy Music Theatre.

The acclaimed rapper recently took the stage at the 2012 Coachella Festival, where he joined rap veterans Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre for a performance of his 2x-Platinum, top 10 smash hit, "Young, Wild & Free." Adding to this, Wiz recently lent his rhymes to Maroon 5's new single "Payphone," which they performed together on NBC's The Voice last week. "Payphone" is currently #1 on the overall iTunes singles chart.

"O.N.I.F.C." is the follow-up to Wiz Khalifa's gold-certified major label debut "ROLLING PAPERS," which was released in March 2011, and spawned the multi-platinum hits "Black And Yellow," "Roll Up" and "No Sleep." Wiz earned himself two nominations at this year's Grammy Awards thanks to his breakout hit "Black And Yellow," in both the "Best Rap Song" and "Best Rap Performance" categories. Khalifa then joined forces with Snoop Dogg for "Mac And Devin Go To High School Soundtrack," the collaborative soundtrack album for the film "Mac And Devin Go To High School." The album featured the hit single "Young, Wild & Free (feat. Bruno Mars)," which has gone on to become 2x-certified Platinum, and has peaked at #7 on Billboard's Hot 100 singles chart. Wiz kicked off 2012 with a high-profile campaign with Bing, where he was featured in the search engine's nationwide commercials.

Khalifa is in the studio putting the final touches on his sophomore album "O.N.I.F.C." due later this year.

About SLASH:

Slash is widely considered one of the greatest rock guitar players of all time. He has received countless accolades and awards including his induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in April 2012. In 2007, Slash was inducted into Hollywood's RockWalk (located in front of Guitar Center in Hollywood) alongside his idols Jimmy Page and Jimi Hendrix. An original member of iconic rock band Guns N' Roses, the Grammy-winning Slash helped the band create signature sounds like the guitar riff of #1 hit "Sweet Child o' Mine" and "Welcome To The Jungle." The band dominated the 1980's and 90's music scene selling more than 100 million albums worldwide and ushered in a decade of hard-charging rock music. After leaving the band, Slash went on to critical acclaim in his personal project Slash's Snakepit, and global success with the supergroup Velvet Revolver. He has been widely sought after by the biggest musicians of all time, performing with everyone from Michael Jackson to Stevie Wonder to Ray Charles. Slash recently landed on the top of the charts with his first true solo album, Slash. In addition, Slash was honored by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce who named him as an official selection for 2011 to receive a star on Hollywood's iconic Walk of Fame. In February 2011, he performed at the Super Bowl XLV half time show, seen by more than 106 million people, becoming the most-watched program in U.S. television history (Nielsen Co.). Got the call to shoot Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds gig on the Friday afternoon by the guys at Ilikemusic. Noel is currently on his sell out mini tour round the country promoting his new album. I shot the second night in London (he was doing 3 gigs at 3 different venues in the city) at the HMV Forum. As I only got the job late nobody told me that there was no pit and we were shooting on a raised platform on the right hand side of the stage.  I would have hired a longer lens if I had know, but pretty happy what I got. The only thing is that i wish i could have got better angles not very inspiring sometimes when you only have one angle to shoot at.
Anyway good gig, not the best shots I have ever done but they look OK :)

District 97 to Release Trouble With Machines July 17th on The Lasers Edge

To contact us Click HERE

Artwork and Tracklisting Revealed

District 97 is undoubtedly the most musically adventurous rock band in the world to feature an American Idol Top 10 Female Finalist.
The band was formed in the fall of 2006 by drummer Jonathan Schang, keyboardist Rob Clearfield, bassist Patrick Mulcahy and guitarist Sam Krahn (replaced in 2008 by current guitarist Jim Tashjian). The foursome from Chicago honed a no-holds barred style of Liquid Tension Experiment-inspired Instrumental Rock before deciding the right vocalist was needed to complement their sound; enter 2007 American Idol Top 10 Female Finalist, Leslie Hunt. With a look, sound and stage presence comparable to a young Ann Wilson from Heart, Leslie's dynamic performances pushed the band into a new direction that forged a unique marriage between accessible, catchy vocal melodies and an adventurous instrumental prowess. She was followed shortly thereafter by one of Chicago's finest young guitarists, Jim Tashjian. With this new blend of charisma and stellar musicianship in place, their live shows at festivals such as CalProg and RoSfest, and numerous appearances across the USA cemented the band as a force to be reckoned with onstage.
In May 2010, the band signed with Laser's Edge, the foremost home of new Progressive music. Laser's Edge oversaw worldwide physical and digital release of District 97's debut effort,Hybrid Child, which was released to worldwide acclaim in September 2010, and went on to top many "Best of 2010" lists. Appearing on the recording is cellist extraordinaire Katinka Kleijn of the world-renowned Chicago Symphony Orchestra, who also appears on their upcoming Summer 2012 release, Trouble With Machines.
The band now returns with their second opus Trouble With Machines. With her fantastic voice, and looks to match, Leslie Hunt has captured the imagination of the male-oriented prog rock scene. Complexity is one of the hallmarks of District 97's compositions but the album is laced with catchy vocal melodies. The track "The Perfect Young Man" features a guest vocal appearance by KING CRIMSON/ASIA bassist JOHN WETTON. RICH MOUSER who has produced albums for SPOCK'S BEARD and NEAL MORSE mixed the album.
Building on the strengths of Hybrid Child, this latest release pushes the envelope even further, and solidifies District 97's position at the forefront of uncompromising Rock music.
The first 2,000 copies of Trouble With Machines come with a bonus pro-shot live DVD filmed at the band's 2011 performance at the Rites Of Spring Festival in Gettysburg, PA.

Beirut is pleased to share with you the newvideo for "The Rip Tide," the title-track to their latest, critically acclaimed album. Premiered this morning onPitchfork,"The Rip Tide" video is a gorgeous journey that we urge to watchuntil the end. Zach Condon expounds on the song and the video:
"I always felt that 'The Rip Tide' wasn't fully able toproject its own ambitions in song form . . . no matter how it was performed orrecorded, it felt contained by sound alone. . . I wanted more, as I often dowith my music, and this is not a bad thing. Growing to accept a song'slimits is part of the process of creating and loving them. Which was why I wasso excited to see what Houmam had dug into when he picked 'The Rip Tide' out ofall others for a video.  The concept fit, and the product brought the songsomewhere that I had only been able to describe to myself, now available forothers to see and feel it much more as I had in the process of writingit."

About Starring:

“...Starring fold a delay bubble into aFarfisa freak-out into a Neu!-ish buildup and shove everything inside a tinyroom that's vibrating with processed drums and tattoo-gun percussion... asundry spoonful of familiar sounds and sweet surprises..." - SPIN

"...venturing from eerie Slint-isms to Krupa beats to circus goth..."- MTV Hive

"...what sets the album apart from your run-of-the-mill post-rock recordis its ability to assemble seemingly disparate instruments and styles intobracing, muscular songs that encourage repeat listens..." - CMJ

"Starring is trying to force incredibly complex ideas about Krauty synths, proggy pop, and where bands can put diverse instrumentation into the smallobject that is a vinyl record." - IMPOSE

"...this six-song Eurotrash epic is a heady brew of prog, krautrock, NoWave, free jazz and neo-classical. Drop the virtual needle, and brace yourselffor the best." - My Old Kentucky Blog

Northern Spy Records announces a full-length album from avant-rockexperimentalists Starring. Playful stalwarts of the BrooklynDIY scene, last year Starring holed up in Brooklyn’sSt. Cecilia’s Church with producer MattMehlan (frontman of Skeletons and collaborator with Congoronics vs Rockers) tocompose an album of six compositions they call ABCDEFG-HIJKLMNOP-QRSTUV-WXYZ.

Starring’s ABCDEFG-HIJKLMNOP-QRSTUV-WXYZ combinesminimalist musical patterns with dreamy poetry to create a new stylefront-woman Clara Hunter likes to call “sparkleprog.” It captures the frenetic energy of theband’s live show, but here it is overlain witha new palate of synthesizers, delay effects, drum processing, aux percussion, and vocals that create delicate, but sometimes radical juxtapositions betweenthe lyrical and the experimental. Though songs like “thebest” and “aphonia” channel the loud, raw, and repetitive “circuspunk” of Starring’searly releases, much of this record speaks with a broader sense of expressivedepth.

Over the course of the album’s six cuts, choruses soar at monstrous heights framed by mechanical and occult trances.Dead jazz turns up with fuzzy 8-bit solos, whistling synths pipe beneathghostly choral arrangements, viola lines in Turkish modes swoop into ornamentedcurls and loops, and singer Clara Hunter’sgirlish vocals whisper the record’s secretswith surreal, woozy melodies. Concretely, the album reflects an aesthetic thatrecalls the classic sounds of European prog rock (Magma, Faust, Neu!), theunhinged grit of 1970’s New York no wave artists likeSuicide, the earliest cuts from minimalists like Terry Riley and Philip Glass, and even a dose of post-rock’s strung-outimprovisations.

A book ofEdward Lear's limericks that comedian Ronnie Barker changed to make funnier hassold for £3,600 at auction.
The Two Ronnies star wrote his own versions of thepoems alongside Lear's in The Book of Nonsense, first published in 1846.
Dominic Winter Auctioneers said it had been bought bya private buyer at the sale in South Cerney, Gloucestershire.
The book, which is signed and dated November 2001,had been estimated to make about £1,500.
Ronnie Barker, who died in 2005 aged 76, wasapparently disappointed by the poet's use of the same word at the end of thefirst and last lines, so made his own additions.
Among them was an introductory limerick he wrote, calling the verses "boring and drear".
It reads "There was an old fossil named Lear,Who's verses were boring and drear. His last lines were worst - just the sameas the first! So I've tried to improve on them here."
The auctioneer's website described the book as,"an extraordinary and unique item, associating two British masters ofcomic language and wordplay."
The buyer was a private collector from Scotland, the auctioneersaid.
At the same sale a 1924 first edition of a collectionof short stories by Agatha Christie, Poirot Investigates, was sold for £34,000.
It had been estimated to make £3,000 - £5,000.
Auctioneer Chris Albury said: "We knew it was avery, very rare dust jacket featuring a picture of Poirot, and we couldn't findan example of the book with a jacket ever having come up at auction before.
"But it proved to be even rarer than that, andmost of the specialists had never even seen one in decades of dealing."
