The Baltimore-based project began recording in 2010 in a residential warehouse space onto a dusty old 8-track tape machine. Two years later, Hatem has traded in his worn tape heads for shiny new digits to produce his new album, My Society. The album focuses on Hatem's experience as an aviculturist, breeding and caring for finches and doves. "Back in 2010 [Heart Of Hearts] released a set of 8 track bedroom recordings of lush dark pop excursions. Now he's walked into the computer age and has given us a taste with his new song "Candling". It's notably more nuanced, and quite beautiful."- Pasta Primavera "the record carries with it the warmth of a tape re-cording of the more ethereal side of early psych" - The Orange Press "Layered vocals combined with ominous atmospherics find their way under your skin, creating an uncomfortable but enchanting presence" - Music For The Masses "lovely and wholly interesting" - Earbuddy http://soundcloud.com/heartofheartshttp://www.last.fm/music/Heart+of+Heartshttp://www.facebook.com/theheartofheartshttp://twitter.com/heartofheart |
